Singapore is a small clean progressive busy city-state country. Each week, about 7,000 flights land or depart from Changi, with more than 58.7 million passengers passing through the airport a year -ChangiAirport.com-. Singapore Changi Airport is currently rated the World Best Airport in 2013 – 2017 by Skytrax. And it is one of the largest Transportation hub in Southeast Asia. Changi Airport has now 4 Terminals. The 4th one will be opening this end of October 2017.
After we checked-in and arranged our stuff at the hotel we headed our way to Gardens By The Bay to captured night shots of the Supertree Grove. The place is so beautiful surrounded with plants and flowers and the lights forming the Supertree Grove is very impressive. People are freely roaming around taking photos, family night out, and just chilling in this massive garden.
We also had a good night shots of the Marina Bay Sands positioned our camera tripod just at the walking flat form beside the lake at the Gardens by the Bay. The Flyers can also be seen in this area.
On our first whole day at Singapore we tried to hop in a bus. From the hotel we staying we just walk to the next corner to catch the bus. The bus driver don’t take money fare instead just drop the money in the orange box and ticket will be printed at the other orange box. At first I don’t understand what the driver is telling me. We don’t have exact amount of coins to pay and we struggle to understand what to do of our bus fare since we don’t have a bus card. Then I talk to some passengers and a nice lady explain to me very well. I had a good talk of that Singaporean lady and she gave all coins left in her coin purse and we get off in the same bus stop. I felt so blessed to meet and exchanged good conversation of her which her helper also come from the Philippines.
The next bus that we need to catch and buy 2 days ticket is the City Sightseeing Tour Bus. For only $49 SGD you can ride to all the City Sightseeing buses for 2 days. Get off and jump in to tourist destination you like to explore. We enjoyed riding this bus while looking around Singapore City and exploring tourist spots. In this City Sight Seeing you can go to Little India, China Town, Botanic Garden, Suntec City, Flyers, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens By The Bay, Orchard Road where Lucky Plaza(Filipino Shops) can be found, and Sentosa Island. Specific color of the bus has its own route of Tourist destination.
Food in Singapore
If you travel in Singapore don’t worry about the food. Plenty of restaurants with good and cheap food but this depends of what type of food you like to eat. While taking photos at Bugis and Capital Mall, my husband and I felt hungry and we found this very cheap restaurant the “Encik Tan”. For as cheap as $5 SGD each plate we had lunch. And also most restaurant in Singapore you have pay for serviette although it’s just few cents. So if you don’t like to pay for serviette just keep good amount of serviette with you when you dine in. Top water is safe to drink as will. Just like in Botanic Garden they provide water dispenser for everyone who wants to drink and refill their water bottle.
As we keep walking and take photographs at Bugis area we tried to be nosy of this public place where people are too busy. This place is the Bugis Street Food area but not just food that you can find here there are heaps of shops for everything.
We just have limited days at Singapore that we wasn’t able to explore further to Sentosa Island.
Below are photos of our Singapore Exploration: Gardens By The Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Botanic Garden, Flyers, ION Orchard Building, Bugis Food Street, Bugis + Capital Mall, China Town, Little India, Street Shots, and some Building Shots.
We didn’t pay any penny in roaming around the places we went. Overall, we enjoyed our short 2 nights and 1 day stay in beautiful Singapore WITHOUT over spending. Appreciate the beauty of every area you explore and you don’t need to spend too much just to be happy temporarily.
