There’s a lot to see here in New Zealand. This small country offers plenty of beautiful natural scenic spots. Even some locals haven’t been to most places that must-see.
A very early 2:00 AM road trip this morning from Christchurch, New Zealand to chase the sunrise at Moeraki Boulders was a bit disappointment BUT rewarding as we continue our morning road adventure.
My husband and I have been planning for a long time to take photograph(sunrise or sunset) of the amazing natural rock formation at Otago called Moeraki Boulders which is in between Moeraki and Hampden.
Today, we finally made it but the weather is not on our side. We arrived at 6:00 AM at Moeraki Cafe where the track started and it’s too many clouds. A group of photographers arrived a minute after us. Even if there are no good colors of the clouds we still went down to the beach where the rocks or boulders can be found. Just a few minutes walk from the car park.

We continued our road trip to Dunedin and we found God’s amazing creation the “Tunnel Beach” with 2 waterfalls flowing at the side of the huge cliff.
When we arrived at the place we just enjoyed taking photographs at the right side cliff and the separated huge rock with see-thru tunnel trying to capture the big splash of waves with slow shutter speed.
Then I asked my husband if we can check out the small tunnel behind us. When we reach the end we were surprised by the beauty of the waterfalls, the big rocks, the ocean, and the cliff. It’s very surprising and relaxing after the 30 minutes walk all downhill. Thank God my knees were doing great.
This is a great destination to check or things to do for nature lovers when you visit Dunedin, New Zealand.
