Torrent Bay, Abel Tasman National Park

Torrent Bay Abel Tasman Golden Bay
Torrent Bay, Abel Tasman National Park Golden Bay Nelson, New ZealandWOW! It’s so beautiful! A very beautiful and peaceful bay that really catches my eyes in our Holiday at Golden Bay Abel Tasman in Nelson is the Torrent Bay . When I first stepped in of the sea shore of this beautiful bay and navigated my eyes to the whole area I immediately said  “WOW! I want to swim and lay down in the sand”.  The water is so crystal clear and the white sand that sparks as the sun shines so bright. The very blue sky and smooth cloud formation makes more of the day of Torrent Bay lovable to the tourist that no one could say no to swim and lay down in the sand and sun bathing for a while before heading to the coastal tracks.
How to get there in Torrent Bay?

Very good question! Explore with me by reading this blog as we enjoy this beautiful beach that one of Golden Bay has to offer.

Marahau Camping site Golden Bay Abel Tasman, Nelson, New Zealand
To reach Torrent Bay either thru coastal track walk which is it takes about 4 to 5hours or rent a water taxi. There are plenty of water taxi that you can rent. You can rent for 2 ways. It cost $35 per person for one way only.

My husband and I choose the Marahau water taxi(ticket office shown) that we booked a  day before our trip. We choose 10:30am departure time which is not too early as we need to pack up necessary things.
We woke up at 7am to have break fast, shower and prepare all our things for the day trip to Torrent bay. We are very excited because it’s our first time to go in that place.
Things need to bring: Water, food, camera, extra clothes, swimming attire, sun glass, sun block lotion, insect repellent, & hat.
Hmmm seems like everything is ready! Let’s go!!!
The water taxi is just a 3 to 5minutes walk from our camping ground so we just decided not to take the car. As we walk about 10 meters away…time check it’s 10:18am oh oh…My husband quickly go back to our camping area and take the car.  Opps a little traffic just near to where we should go to catch the water taxi. We saw 2 heavy equipment vehicle  ahead of us carrying water taxi.  We walk fast going to the area of water taxi. As we walk we followed a man with piece of paper in his hand. As we’re approaching to the place the man ask if we are catching for a  water taxi. And we said Yes!  And he ask our name and said “ahh you guys we are looking for”.  Well, time check it’s 10:30am we still arrive on time  hehe 😉

Water TaxiAs the truck goes on to take the water taxi to the water, my husband turn on his DSLR camera and noticed that the SD card was not inserted(left behind).

The water taxi toured us to split apple rock, the bay where there are seals hanging around, and some place where it brings history to Abel Tasman. The water Taxi will also takes passengers to Anchorage Bay. So I had a quick view of Anchorage where some of the passengers of the water taxi departed.

We enjoyed swimming and walking around Torrent Bay before walking to the coastal track to reach Cleopatra’s Pool.
